No matter whether your play space plans are in their infancy or whether they are more developed – HAGS SMP can work with you to help define and refine your project.
We adopt a tried, tested and trusted ‘consultancy’ approach to fundraising and it’s an approach that works.
Over the years we have helped community and voluntary groups like yours secure £000’s of funding and financial assistance – and, what’s more, we’re getting better at it year-on-year.
Unlike some organisations our help and intervention doesn’t involve supplying you with lists of unqualified names and contact numbers.
Instead we have clear systems and processes that we follow that help us plan and implement our fundraising strategies, and monitor and review our performance against plan.
Fundraising, or more importantly, being good at fundraising isn’t rocket science. But it is to do with having clear, agreed and achievable goals and objectives; realistic timescales and funding expectations and having the perseverance to ‘stick to your guns’ when or if things don’t turn out the way you’d hoped, as well as the flexibility to adapt and modify plans in what can often be new and unchartered environments.
We understand that fundraising may not be your forté, and that you may have limited resources (time and people) that you can draw upon. We also appreciate that you may feel uncomfortable and awkward approaching organisations for funding help and support, or believe that your inexperience will count against you.
But with our help – it doesn’t have to be this way.
So...let’s get started.
Following on from the Funding Options Appraisal report covered in the last section, HAGS SMP can provide a number of specialised consultancy services all designed to increase and improve the chances of securing funding.
The Funding Options Appraisal identified where the major opportunities existed – but we now need to step-up and get things moving.
Our professional fundraising consultants are experts in knowing where to find and how to access external funds, and how to make your funding bids and applications stand out from the crowd.
The specific Funding Support Services we provide cover:
Having a Project Business Plan at your disposal may or may not be a requirement to secure funding – but we believe that the process involved in preparing such plans demonstrates good practice, and will differentiate your project from the rank and file.
In our experience funding organisations respond positively to the existence of business plans as they demonstrate a good, well-rounded and professional business approach – and make them feel more confident about making an investment in your project.
There is a definite skill in constructing business plans. Knowing what to include and what to leave out are key decisions. Not enough information may give the impression that the project is being rushed or has no depth. Too much information can signal a lack of focus or confusion over priorities.
Our team of professional fundraisers have substantial (and we believe ‘unrivalled’) experience in designing and putting such plans together, and can provide this service to clients at cost-competitive rates.
Funding Applications & Bids
Once you have a business plan and Funding Options Appraisal in place you may well be in a position to write specific funding applications.
If you feel confident about writing funding applications yourself – that’s not a problem.
If you choose this route but need a sounding board or another pair of eyes to read over the document we can provide assistance on an as-and-when basis.
If you don’t have the time or the expertise to write funding applications, or if wading through bureaucratic red tape leaves you cold - we can provide a complete application writing service.
Our fundraising consultants know how to construct and present funding bids, they understand the jargon and know what goes into making a compelling and successful application.
Although our consultants can write the documents they will expect you to become actively involved in the process.
